This was a personal project in which I designed and crafted a batch of twenty bodysurfing handplanes to be sold at local beach markets. Bodysurfing with a handplane allows the rider to ride waves faster, longer and with more control. I designed four shape variations which each perform differently in the surf. The handplanes were hand-crafted from paulownia timber and the straps made from recycled wetsuit.
